2023 marked a remarkable milestone for us. It was the year we transformed our beloved pastime into a thriving venture. In June of that year, we proudly unveiled JS Disc Golf to the world, and over the subsequent months, our inventory experienced an astounding 700% expansion. Initially offering selections from Dynamic Discs, Latitude 64, and Westside Discs, we've now broadened our range to encompass thirteen distinct brands. Looking ahead, our ambitions include incorporating Discmania and Prodigy into our repertoire. However, one notable absence remains: Innova. Regrettably, despite our persistent efforts, Innova has declined to collaborate, citing our lack of a physical storefront. For now, our presence is solely online and mobile-based. Nevertheless, we remain undeterred in our pursuit. We're committed to finding a solution that will enable us to feature Innova products in our store by the end of the year.
But for now, let’s take a look at OUR TOP SELLING DISCS OF 2023:
1. Latitude 64 Diamond
When it comes to fairway drivers, the Latitude 64 Diamond stands out as a personal favorite of mine.
The Diamond could easily be touted as the ultimate disc golf driver for beginners. This disc boasts the ideal combination of speed, turn, and glide, making it a go-to choice for those with less throwing power. What sets it apart even further is its availability in exceptionally light weights, catering to newcomers who may struggle with achieving distance due to minimal speed fade.
But the Diamond's appeal doesn't stop there. Crafted from the robust Opto Line plastic, it offers durability that ensures longevity on the course. Many players not only rely on the Diamond for approach and fairway shots but also trust it for their initial drives straight off the tee. This versatility owes much to its rim size, which provides a flawless grip, empowering throwers to unleash their power with confidence.
2. MVP Glitch
The Glitch is an absolute game-changer! If you haven't had the pleasure of throwing one yet, you're seriously missing out.
Crafted by MVP, the Glitch is a featherweight approach disc boasting extraordinary glide. Tailored for precise, low-speed placements or those crucial long-distance putts, it's a true marvel on the course. From warming up with catch-and-throw sessions to effortlessly reaching the basket, the Glitch excels at making even the most challenging putts feel like a breeze. Trust me, once you experience its magic, you'll wonder how you ever played without it.
3. Discraft Buzzz
I also carry the Buzzz, which is my go-to for midrange shots.
Renowned as one of the most beloved midrange discs globally, the Buzzz lives up to its reputation for consistency, reliability, and stability. Whether you're aiming for power or finesse, the Buzzz responds precisely to your intentions. With robust throws, it maintains the line you set with unwavering confidence. When thrown lightly and evenly, it gracefully fades, offering versatility in its flight pattern.
This immensely popular disc is available in a variety of plastics from Discraft. In base line plastics, it boasts a stability rating of 0, while in premium blends, it leans slightly toward overstable with a Discraft rating of .5.
4. Latitude 64 Saint
The River held a special place in my bag when I was just starting out, but as my skills improved, it made way for the Saint. Plus, it's another Lat64 gem that ranks among our top 5 best-selling discs!
The Saint stands out as an exceptional driver for intermediate players seeking enhanced distance and precision. Its flight path traces a gentle "S curve," resulting in a touch of overstable reliability. When thrown with gusto, it showcases a notable turn followed by a manageable fade. Ideal for flights spanning up to 350 feet, the Saint boasts impressive glide, earning a rare rating of 7 in this department. Latitude 64 describes it as a "slightly longer River," featuring a taller-than-average distance driver profile (1.9cm) coupled with a moderate wing length (1.9cm).
5. Axiom Time Lapse
Is the Time-Lapse Axiom's answer to the Innova Destroyer? Which one reigns supreme? Personally, I'm partial to the Time-Lapse, but I'll admit my bias toward Axiom products.
Introducing the Simon Line! This eagerly awaited collection of discs from Simon Lizotte has finally arrived, headlined by the Time-Lapse. As a 12-speed distance driver, it marks the first-ever integration of GYRO technology into a driver of this speed. Collaborating with MVP, Simon engineered this disc to be the pinnacle of distance driving: offering the perfect blend of glide, turn, and fade for unparalleled distance with supreme control and predictability.
TOP SELLING DISCS BY BRAND
Dynamic Discs: Judge
As I sifted through our sales records, I was taken aback to find a putter reigning supreme atop our list of Dynamic Disc sales. Admittedly, the Judge only edged out the Raider by a single sale, but it's a revelation nonetheless.
The Dynamic Discs Judge swiftly established itself as a cornerstone of the Dynamic Discs repertoire. Boasting stability and reliability, this putter features a prominent bead and a remarkably straight flight path. It's no wonder it ranks among the best-selling disc golf putters, excelling equally in both putting and approach shots.
Latitude 64: Diamond
As mentioned above, our top selling disc for 2023.
Westside Discs: Bear
Meet my go-to overstable fairway companion! Personally, I favor the Tournament plastic variant.
Enter the Westside Discs Bear, your ultimate fairway navigator. Engineered for controlled flights, the Bear boasts a neutral to slightly understable trajectory, making it a prime choice for advanced players. Yet, newcomers will also appreciate its reliability, offering a touch of turn and a consistent fade. Considered the larger sibling of the Westside Discs Stag, the Bear is robust enough to accommodate any arm speed with ease.
Discraft: Buzzz
As mentioned above, #3 in our top selling discs for 2023.
MVP: Glitch
As mentioned above, #2 in our top selling discs of 2023.
Axiom: Time Lapse
As mentioned above, #5 in our top selling discs for 2023.
Streamline Discs: Drift
I often liken the Drift to a fusion of the Axiom Crave and the Lat64 River – as if they had a disc golf offspring. It leans slightly more understable than the two, yet inherits the speed and dome from the River and the glide and plastic quality from the Crave.
Streamline discs, a creation of MVP Disc Sports, consist of single-mold discs, with the Drift being the latest addition to their lineup. This versatile fairway driver offers exceptional controllability, catering to players of all skill levels. Beginners will appreciate its ability to hold laser-straight lines before gently fading, while seasoned players will find joy in unleashing it for precise hyzer flip shots and long, graceful anhyzer turnover throws.
Lone Star: Bayonet
I also carry the Bayonet in my bag and rely on it often for those demanding long, straight shots.
Crafted by Lone Star Discs, the Bayonet stands as a high-speed, neutral distance driver. It's the perfect tool for players seeking maximum distance without excessive turn or fade.
Wild Discs: Hyena
We've only recently introduced Wild Discs into our inventory, but the Hyenas have been flying off the shelves steadily. Although I haven't had the chance to test them myself, rave reviews from fellow disc golfers speak volumes about their performance. Personally, I'm intrigued by the flight ratings of 9 | 5 | -2 | 2. Currently, we stock only two fairway drivers with a -2 Turn and 2 Fade: the Wild Discs Hyena and the Lone Star Guadalupe.
Described as an outstanding understable fairway driver, the Hyena from Wild Discs boasts impressive straight-line accuracy and exceptional hyzer flip capabilities.
